Irrigation Efficiency Partners Pty Ltd
Irrigation Efficiency Partners Pty Ltd (IEP) works with irrigation farmers to achieve more production from every megalitre. We locate and secure investment opportunities for farmers wanting to modernise their irrigation systems, and we assist farmers to create investment-ready and cost effective farm infrastructure projects.
IEP brings together a range of skill and expertise in the planning, design and implementation of modern overhead spray and drip irrigation systems. Our partner organisations are well established in the irrigation industry and have many years experience working with farmers to yield the most from improved management of water and soil.
IEP has been selected as a Delivery Partner in Rounds 2, 3 and 4 of the Australian Government’s On-Farm Irrigation Efficiency Program (OFIEP). Under Round 2, IEP worked with 20 farmers in northern Victoria and southern NSW to complete the conversion of flood irrigation to more efficient overhead spray technologies.
Under Round 3 of the OFIEP, IEP was granted in-principle approval for funding up to $14.8Million to implement on-farm infrastructure projects in northern Victoria. This has resulted in 22 farm projects, including the installation of efficient overhead spray and drip irrigation. Round 3 projects expect to be completed by mid 2015.
IEP signed a Funding Agreement with the Commonwealth Government for funding under Round 4 of the OFIEP in 2014. Funding totalling $34Million is available to be allocated across 54 farm projects in southern NSW and northern Victoria, including conversion of flood irrigation to spray and drip technologies and upgrade of flood irrigation layouts.
Round 5 of the On Farm Irrigation Efficiency Program will provide up to $125Million of funding for farm efficiency projects in the NSW Murray and Murrumbidgee Valleys. IEP has been selected as a Delivery Partner and is currently putting together individual farm applications.
Current projects are supported by the Australian Government's Water for the Future initiative through the On-Farm Irrigation Efficiency Program.
